What started in Pune was an attempt to reimagine this everyday ritual: to create a space where chai wasn’t rushed, overlooked, or ordinary, but thoughtfully brewed and enjoyed.

Early days

For the founders of Kannu Ki Chai, Kunal Gulati and Ranjeet Tale, chai was never just a beverage, it was a moment. From quiet mornings to long conversations and spontaneous breaks, chai was always present, bringing warmth, familiarity, and connection. That love for good chai and the memories built around it sparked the idea for KKC. The brand was created to honour those everyday moments, a space where chai is brewed with care, enjoyed without hurry, and shared.

The early days were all about experimentation, learning, and listening. Perfecting recipes, understanding customer preferences, and building trust cup by cup. From long hours to hands-on operations, the focus remained constant: consistency in taste, warmth in service, and spaces people wanted to return to.
 

MILESTONES

KKC’s story began with a simple idea that it should be local with a name that people will not easily forget. As we say tea or chai is a very emotional drink that should connect with our souls and customers too, we started selling a handful of finest-quality teas on our first Tea café with approved hygiene levels and standards.

2016

The Beginning

Kannu Ki Chai was founded in 2016 with a clear vision of bringing authentic, high-quality Indian chai into everyday workspaces.
Our journey began at Qubix IT Park, where the brand was first introduced to a young, professional audience that quickly embraced the warmth, consistency, and comfort of our chai.
This phase laid the foundation of our operational discipline, product standardization, and deep understanding of the Indian consumer's daily chai ritual.

2017-19

Expansion Across Corporate India

Building on strong acceptance and repeat demand, Kannu Ki Chai steadily expanded its footprint across major corporate hubs.
By the end of 2019, the brand had successfully established 10 outlets across IT parks and corporate campuses in multiple cities across India.
This period marked our evolution from a single-location concept to a scalable business model, trusted by corporates and loved by thousands of daily customers.

2021

Entering Retail & Digital India

Kannu Ki Chai opened its first standalone retail outlet outside IT parks, making the brand accessible to a wider audience beyond corporate environments.
In the same year, we launched our e-commerce platform, extending our presence beyond physical outlets.
Our online store introduced 20+ varieties of curated teas and snacks, allowing customers across India to experience Kannu Ki Chai in their homes, offices, and everyday lives, no matter where they were located.

2022-24

Strengthening the Brand

With a strong offline and online presence in place, these years were focused on:
  • Strengthening retail operations

  • Refining the customer experience

  • Building brand recall in new markets

  • Preparing systems for scalable growth

Kannu Ki Chai evolved into a recognized and trusted name, blending tradition with modern café culture.

2025

A Growing National Presence

By 2025, Kannu Ki Chai stands as a growing national chai café brand with:
